Ignition Casino is the sister site of Bovada Casino and Slots.lv. They operate on a proprietary platform and accept players from the US. The best features of Ignition are its multi-tiered rewards program with cashback on losses, and recurring promotions that include unlimited refer-a-friend rewards and reload bonuses.
However, as of July 2018, the casino is not licensed by any gaming control board. There are also multiple player complaints about Ignition, and they fail to publicly disclose the name of their fairness auditor.
We, therefore, do not recommend depositing with Ignition Casino.
Launch date and location
Ignition Casino launched in 2016. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information regarding its location. The only available address is for Ignition’s parent company.
Lynton Limited, the parent company of Ignition Casino, was established in 1997. It’s headquartered at 1 Park Row, Leeds, L51 5B. In addition to Ignition Casino, Lynton Limited operates Bovada Poker, Slots.lv, Cafe Casino, Bovada Sportsbook, Bovada Live Dealer, and Bovada Casino.
Ignition used to hold a license from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC), but they gave up their permit soon after their launch. As of 2018, the casino does not hold a valid license from a regulating authority. We contacted the casino’s support team about this and were told that they “are exploring new licensing possibilities.”
This is a red flag and reason enough to be wary of depositing with Ignition.
Online casinos partner with independent third-party auditing companies, such as BMM Test Labs, iTech Labs, TST, eCOGRA, and Gaming Associates, who test their software for fairness. Unfortunately, Ignition casino does not disclose the name of their auditor.
We wouldn’t normally consider this a red flag because online casinos are not legally required to publicly disclose the name of their auditor – they only need to share it with their licensing authority. However, because Ignition is currently unlicensed, this lack of disclosure is deeply troubling.
Third-party abuse report websites are full of complaints about Ignition, many of which revolve around non-payment and blocked withdrawals. Some gamblers complain about the games being unfair, but it’s impossible to assess the validity of such claims without access to the casino’s server logs.
Ignition Casino supports responsible gambling and presents valuable information about how to play responsibly and control your gaming behavior on its responsible gambling page.
You can take a self-assessment test at Ignition to discover if you have appropriate control over your casino spending. If you feel that you have become a problem gambler, you can request that they disable your account for a specific time.
Ignition has partnered with charitable organizations such as Gamblers Anonymous, NCP Gambling, and Gambling Therapy to help problem gamblers receive support.
All data transferred between your device and Ignition’s servers is encrypted using a SHA256 algorithm validated by GlobalSign. This helps protect your personal and financial details from interception by malicious individuals.
The casino accepts credit card payments which, according to a support representative, are “handled by an independent payment processing service.” Unfortunately, we were unable to verify the name and location of the service provider and cannot vouch for the confidentiality of your credit card details.
Ignition accepts Bitcoin payments and encourages using them instead of credit cards, which we find suspicious. Players should keep the irreversible nature of BTC transactions in mind; in case of a payment dispute, legal recourse may be impossible.
The casino attempts to prevent underage gambling by requiring players to verify their identities. Verification involves submitting scans of a government-issued ID and utility bill.
Awards and accolades
Ignition Casino hasn’t won any industry awards.
If you are disconnected in the middle of an active spin or deal, the game will resume where you left it after you reconnect. However, all unfinished games and unresolved bets will become null and void after 60 days of connection loss.
Available deposit methods vary from account to another, but the following methods are available to all players:
Bitcoin: ignition is one of the few online casinos that accept cryptocurrency deposits. Keep in mind that Bitcoin deposits may take a long time to process due to the currency’s network overload.
Credit card: You can use VISA, Amex, and MasterCard credit cards, as well as VISA gift cards, to top up your bankroll.
Unfortunately, Ignition charges hefty fees on credit card deposits:
- Amex – 9.9%
- VISA/MasterCard – 5.9%
Your credit card company or bank may also charge cash advance fees and currency conversion fees of up to 3%.
Credit card deposits must be made using a card issued in the account holder’s name. Additionally, players using a credit card will be required to verify their identity.
Ignition does not accept deposits through Neteller, Skrill, or other e-wallets. Considering their lack of licensing, it’s no wonder reputable e-wallet providers refuse to partner with the casino.
All withdrawal requests can be canceled while in processing.
Cash-out methods vary by player jurisdiction. The following methods are available worldwide:
Bitcoin: cryptocurrency withdrawals can be initiated from the cashier and take up to 48 hours to process. Make sure to enter a correct Bitcoin wallet address; otherwise, your funds will be permanently lost. BTC withdrawals are free of charge.
Check by courier: safer and more reliable than a Bitcoin withdrawal but takes up to 14 business days. The casino does not issue checks for more than $3000. If you withdraw a larger amount, you will receive it in weekly installments of $3000 each. If you lose your check, the casino will issue a new one for a fee.
Other withdrawal methods available to some players include Visa Fast Funds (VFF) and debit card withdrawals.
Unfortunately, some withdrawals incur fees:
- Check by courier – first check per 90 days is free; additional checks cost $100 each
- VFF – $25
- Debit card – $25
Note that these fees can be considerably larger if you attempt to withdraw a deposit that was not used for gambling purposes.
Before requesting a payout via card for the first time, you will need to submit a Credit Card Verification Form (CCVF).
Most games at Ignition are five-reel and three-reel slots, but you will also find a decent number of table games, video poker games, blackjack, and specialty games. The casino is also home to a full-fledged online poker room.
Ignition Casino offers games from the following software developers:
Rival – well known for its interactive slots or i-slots.
Revolver Gaming – this UK-based developer provides some of Ignitions video slot titles.
Makitone Gaming – a Swedish provider established in 2015. Known for developing HTML5 slots.
Real Time Gaming (RTG) – known for their Real Series of Slots, featuring randomly-activated progressive jackpots.
Ignition Casino offers 204 online slots games, which can be sorted into two categories — three-reel slots or and five-reel slots. That’s a rather poor selection by industry standards. Their most popular titles include:
- Good Fishes
- Multiplier Man
- Robin Hood
- A Night with Cleo
- The Mob Heist
- Reign of Gnomes
- Fast & Sexy
- Aztec’s Treasure
- Caesar’s Empire
- Golden Gorilla
A Night with Cleo is an exclusive online slot found at Ignition Casino and its sister sites, designed by Lynton Limited’s in-house team and released in December 2016. This five-reel Egyptian-themed Cleopatra and features free spins, scatters and wilds, and a gamble round.
Ignition Casino doesn’t list its jackpot slots separately. However, if you launch the slots library in list view, you can identify the jackpot slots. Some of the hottest jackpots as of this writing include:
- Food Fight: $677,000
- Night with Cleo: $148,000
- Five Times Wins Progressive: $95,000
Ignition offers nine blackjack games:
- Double Deck Blackjack
- Classic Blackjack
- Perfect Pairs
- Classic Single Deck Blackjack
- European Blackjack
- Zappit Blackjack
- Single Deck Blackjack
- Classic Double Deck Blackjack
Single Deck Blackjack has an easy-to-use game interface. Once you have launched the game, you can click on the menu symbol at the top left to enable/disable labels on the action buttons and turn sound and music on/off. The betting limits are $1/$300. While blackjack pays 3:2, insurance pays 2:1, and all other winning hands pay even money. The cards are shuffled after each round.
Single Deck Blackjack is one of the most player-friendly games you will find in the Ignition portfolio – it comes with a house edge of 0.14997% (close to 98.5% RTP).
Ignition Casino spreads four roulette variants:
- Classic American
- Classic European
Unfortunately, the casino does not offer a French variant, which features the highest RTP out of any roulette game.
European Roulette has 37 numbers placed in alternating pockets of red and black. Unlike American Roulette, it lacks the double zero, which gives it a lower house edge. The betting limit is $1/$500 per spin. Comes with a 2.70% edge (97.30% RTP)
Unlike its European counterpart, American Roulette comes with two zero fields, which boosts the house edge to 5.26% (94.74% RTP). You can choose from coin values such as $1, $5, $25, $100, and $500. The winning single number bet gets the top payout of 35:1.
Budget-minded players should avoid American roulette as it will reduce their bankroll play time by around 50%.
Ignition Casino offers 17 video poker variants, most of which are multi-handed variants of the same game. Examples include:
- Bonus Deuces
- Deuces Wild
- Jacks or Better
- Bonus Poker
- Double Bonus Poker
- Bonus Poker Deluxe
- Double Double Bonus Poker
Jacks or Better pays 4000 for Royal Flush, 45 for Full House, and 30 for Flush. The game’s expected RTP is 99.54%. Bonus Poker pays 4000 for Royal Flush, 40 for Full House, and 25 for Flush, providing 99.1% RTP.
Live casino games
As of June 2018, Ignition Casino does not offer any live dealer games.
Bonuses and promotions
Currently, Ignition Casino does not offer any no-deposit bonus.
First deposit bonus
You can choose from two first deposit bonus offers:
- $2,000 in welcome bonus – as soon as you sign up, you become eligible to receive a 100% up to $1000 casino welcome bonus and a 100% up to $1000 poker welcome bonus. To claim this reward, you have to make a deposit.
- $2,000 Bitcoin welcome bonus – All Bitcoin first deposits are eligible to receive a match bonus of 200% up to $2000. For example, deposit $500 using BTC and receive a $1,000 bonus.
The fine print:
The wagering requirement for both offers is 25x the bonus plus deposit amount. For example, if you deposit $1,000 using Bitcoin and qualify for a $2,000 bonus, the wagering requirement will be 25*(1,000+2,000) = $75,000.
You must satisfy this wagering requirement before you can request a withdrawal. If you don’t meet the turnover within six months of receiving your bonus, your bonus and winnings will be forfeit.
Currently, Ignition Casino does not offer free spins as a reward for new or existing players.
The casino offers an unlimited 25% bonus up to $1000 on every Bitcoin deposit.
The fine print
You cannot use your bonus funds to play poker games, but you can redeem the reload bonus as many times as you wish. The playthrough requirement is 10x the bonus plus deposit amount.
Ignition runs two major recurring promotions that can boost your bankroll.
Tell a Friend: if you refer a depositing player to the online casino, you will get a match bonus 200% up to $100 on their first deposit amount. There is no limit to the number of friends you can refer.
Weekly Boost: every week, you can claim match bonuses of 100% up to $100. The online casino provides a new code every week, which you must enter while making your deposit to claim the reward.
Game contribution tables
Not all casino games contribute an equal amount towards meeting bonus playthrough requirements. Typically, high-RTP games contribute less than those with a low RTP; this is the casino’s way of making up for the lower house edge.
The game contribution table for Ignition Casino’s bonuses is as follows:
- Slots and specialty games – 100%
- Table games – 20%
- Video Poker games – 10%
- Single Deck & Double Deck Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat – 5%
- Craps – 0%
For example, if you wager $100 on slots, the entire amount wagered will contribute towards wagering requirements. However, if you wager $100 on video poker, only $10, or 10%, of your wagers will contribute.
Most online casinos offer VIP programs to reward their most loyal players. The rewards program at Ignition Casino is called Ignition Rewards and allows players to earn Miles in exchange for placing real money wagers.
There are two types of Miles:
- Tier Miles: enable you to achieve higher loyalty levels.
- Ignition Miles: can be exchanged for cash.
If you wager $1 on slots, video poker, table games, and specialty games, you will earn five, one, and 15 Miles, respectively. You accrue Ignition Miles and Tier Miles at the same rate.
The following are the various Ignition Rewards tiers, the Tier Miles required to qualify, and the redemption rate:
- Steel – 0 Tier Miles – $1 for 2,500 Miles
- Chrome – 2,500 – $1 for 2,250
- Bronze – 10,000 – $1 for 2000
- Silver – 60,000 – $1 for 1,750
- Gold – 150,000 – $1 for 1500
- Platinum – 500,000 – $1 for 1,250 Miles
- Titanium – 1,000,000 – $1 for 1000 Miles
- Diamond – 2,500,000 – $1 for 1000 Miles
Once you reach a tier, you cannot be demoted.
The cash bonuses obtained in exchange for Ignition Miles have a wagering requirement of 10x.
Cashback on losses
Ignition casino does not offer cashback on wagers, but they do offer cashback on losses to VIP members. These are as follows:
- Steel – 6%
- Chrome – 7%
- Bronze – 8%
- Silver – 9%
- Gold – 10%
- Platinum – 11%
- Titanium – 12%
- Diamond – 15%
Every day at midnight, the online casino checks if your balance is less than $10, excluding in-play money. If it is, the casino calculates your total deposits from the time of receiving the last cashback. It then deducts total withdrawals and balance. If the net total is a positive number, the casino concludes that the player has suffered a loss and will credit the cashback.
Ignition casino’s lobby can only be accessed through their instant-play, browser-based application. The app is compatible with Macs and PCs, as well as Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. No download is required.
There are currently no dedicated mobile apps available.
Software usability and filtering options
Ignition Casino’s website is available in English, Chinese, and Spanish.
Their games are grouped into the following categories:
- Table games
- Video poker
- Specialty games
There is no separate category for roulette games, nor for jackpot slots – players will find those mixed in with slots and other table games, respectively.
The slots section provides a fair amount of information about each title, including available bet sizes and in-game bonus features. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to filter titles by the number of paylines, theme, or developer name. None of the games we tried were available in Demo mode.
The blackjack and table games sections are similar and include highlights of each game’s house rules and payouts – a nice touch that’s lacking at most other online casinos.
Overall, an intuitive lobby that could use a bit more functionality.
Help and support
Ignition’s help center can be accessed from every page of the casino’s website. This section includes a helpful FAQ that addresses questions on casino games, account registration, and payment methods. We found most answers were not detailed enough, and essential questions related to deposits and withdrawals were not addressed at all.
You can also reach customer service via phone, email, and live chat. We tried out the live chat feature and found their support agents were the most incompetent ones we’ve ever spoken to. Following are examples of some of our questions and the responses we received:
Q: does Ignition Casino accept Skrill, Neteller, or PayPal deposits?
A: “is that a gift card?” (sic)
Q: what’s the name of the software testing agency responsible for auditing your RNG?
A: “Yes, we use a Random Number Generator with state-of-the-art encryption(…)”
Q: what deposit methods does Ignition accept?
A: “I’m not sure, but let me check on that for you.”
